Talent Show Updates:  Practice for the Talent Show is Monday, January 12th at 3:30 PM.  Students that submitted a permission slip or online form should attend.  All students need to be picked up at 4:30 PM at the side of the building bus loop that is shared with Gordon Creek  as there are no late buses.  Students do NOT need to bring costumes or props to the practice.  Students cannot have weapons or anything that looks like a weapon (think Halloween costume rules).  Students should be prepared to perform in front of a large audience.  If parents/guardians have questions or are interested in helping, please contact John Bory at boryj25@gmail.com.

Join the PTA The MTE PTA really takes pride in the amount of events we hold for families during the school year.  Every volunteer needs to be a PTA Member (it's only $5), and we need a lot of volunteers throughout the year!  Please see the MTE Membership Flier on how to join the PTA.  We hold monthly meetings beginning in October to plan various events throughout the year, and we would love it if you could join us to share your ideas!

Volunteering is a great way to see your child during the school day and help out!  We appreciate any and all volunteers!  Sometimes we even have grandparents sign up.  Please reach out with any questions regarding the events above to Adrienne Snow, asnow1007@gmail.com.  For general PTA questions, please email MTEPTA@yahoo.com

MTE Updates January 2026

Hello, BSCSD Elementary families.  Please see our updates from the week below.  Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

-BSCSD Elementary Principals

Important Upcoming Dates

  • January 8 - 21: Middle of the Year Assessment Period

  • January 19:  Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - No School

Attendance Matters

We understand that life happens—illness, medical appointments, and other necessary interruptions are a normal part of the school year.

While we appreciate your efforts to keep absences to a minimum, we want to share just how quickly those small missed moments can impact learning.

The Attendance Math:

  • 30 minutes late/early per week over the school year = More than 4 full days of missed instruction!

  • 10 minutes late/early per day over the school year = Over 6 full days of missed instruction!

Consistent attendance ensures your child doesn't miss out on vital lessons and classroom connections. Thank you for making every minute count!

If you do need to pick your child up from school, please provide as much advanced notice as possible.

Scotties Locker

Scotties Locker is an opportunity for families to both donate gently used sports equipment and pick up gently used sports equipment. Donations will be accepted January 20th - March 1st. You will then be able to pick up gently used sports equipment at our annual District Wellness Expo on March 7, 2026 at the Wood Rd/Milton Terrace Elementary complex. More info is here.

Why not join our BSCSD team?

If you are seeking a career in the field of education and looking to contribute to the growth and success of the students in our community, please consider joining our BSCSD Team! More info is HERE.

Milton Terrace Day of Caring

Milton Terrace celebrated a Day of Caring on Wednesday, February 12th, where students and staff members spent the day supporting various organizations within our community.  The day kicked off with a full school assembly about the importance of helping others in our community.  Grade level "buddies" then met together to learn more about the organizations they are supporting.  Finally, buddies worked together on a variety of service learning projects.  It was a wonderful day of giving at MTE!

Here are the community organizations we supported:

  • Kindergarten and 5th grade students- Lifeworks
  • 1st grade and 3rd grade students- Ronald McDonald House
  • 2nd and 4th grade students- Wesley Community
  • Mrs. Church and Ms. Levan's classes- Saratoga County SPCA
